the iiNet freezone

iinet freezone

If you're signed up with an iiNet broadband account, you can look forward to unlimited, no-holds-barred access to the Freezone. The Freezone is a selection of servers and sites on the Internet that you can download from without counting towards your quota limit.

Better still, if you do max out your quota, downloads from anywhere in the Freezone won't be affected by shaping — so you'll still be able to access all the content at full speed! Check out the information below for more tips on using Freezone sites.

Note: Uploads are not included in the Freezone for Naked DSL which means they will be counted towards your monthly quota.

We've packed our Freezone with heaps of great stuff, including access to TV, Sport, iTunes, Radio, Games and plenty more. Further down the track, expect our Freezone boundaries to grow as we add more content offerings. Take a look at the following sites and content on offer right now through the Freezone:

As you click your way through Freezone, you'll need to be careful about clicking links or ads on sites that could take you away from the Freezone. Once you've ventured into non-Freezone territory, data is counted towards your monthly download quota.

Keeping an eye on the URL (web address) of unmetered sites you visit is also a good idea. If the URL changes you could be using up your broadband quota.

You'll also need to note that if you alter the DNS settings for your computer, Freezone content could become metered. Using the automatic settings assigned by our servers will make sure this doesn't happen.

Lastly, while actual download of data isn't counted, some sites and content might need you to pay for items you're downloading. For example, while the download of data for a piece of software from Tucows won't count towards your quota, it might require payment for the actual product.
